Abstract:The changing climate and the pressure from politicians and society to become more sustainable are resulting in an energy transition in the mobility sector. Harmful emissions must be curbed, especially CO2 emissions. That is why alternative energy sources are coming onto the market, including renewable and more sustainable fuels. This has consequences for gas stations, because the uncertainty regarding the change of the fuel type and income in the future is increasing, which has led to the decision to research how gas station entrepreneurs should deal with the alternative energy sources that are currently on the rise, what the gas station business model will look like in the future, and what gas station entrepreneurs should do to replace the current business model with the future business model.
