| Abstract: | In this thesis, a process is discussed in which the goal is to improve the PASS system, a data-to-text system that uses match statistics to generate Dutch soccer reports. A study has been done where reports generated by PASS and reports written by reporters were compared. From this study, improvement points were found, some of which have been used to implement new features into PASS; the reports generated by PASS now mention substitutions, which was not present before, the way that players are mentioned has been adapted and many other smaller changes have been made. An evaluation with human participants has been performed to test these implementations, from which it resulted that in general, PASS was successfully improved. |
