| Abstract: | Since the first public mentioning of the terms Industry 4.0 in 2011 researchers and companies are occupied with working on definitions and mentioning the great things that will happen the coming years to the manufacturing industry. Larger companies have the resources to work on these issues and already benefit from this revolution. This research is developed to contribute to the research area focussed on SMEs and the challenges these enterprises will be facing with regard to the Industry 4.0 and Smart Industry revolution. The research finds several general challenges that are common among every company size and industry. But the relevance of challenges can differ between different company sizes. This is substantiated with the help of literature review and case study at a SME. |
