Abstract:Additive Manufacturing is mostly implemented after a technical redesign of a part. In this research, a cost approach is used to determine the potential benefits of using AM in the repair of aircraft components, where one or multiple SRUs are needing repair. A model is created to see the impact of a change to regular AM or a fast resupply option where the SRU will arriver earlier at higher costs. this model is then extended to repairs with more than one SRU needing replacement.
