Abstract:Organizational restructuring (merger, acquisitions and downsizing) is probably the most common strategic manoeuvres in business. Given the critical importance of human factors for their success, this study focused on two important issues. First, to explore the effects of organizational restructuring (merger, acquisition, downsizing) on psychological contract breach of employees working in private commercial banks of Pakistan and their effects on organizational identification and turnover intentions, Second, to explore the interaction effect of transformational leadership in relation between restructuring and psychological contract breach. This was a cross-sectional study in which data of 150 employees were collected from private commercial banks of Pakistan through personal and internet based surveys. Multiple hierarchical regression analyses were used to test various hypotheses designed for this research study. This study looks into the way that organizational restructuring (merger, acquisitions, and downsizing) has significant negative and equal effects on psychological contract breach, in response to that effects turnover intentions increases and organizational identification decreases. Findings of this study also highlighted that transformational leadership effectively reduces the negative effects of restructuring on psychological contract breach
