Abstract:In this study, I study the cyber risk, defined as the risk generated by the usage of informational technologies, of a museal entity. I explain the evaluation of the cyber risk I conducted with the MUSE – Museo delle Scienze (Trento, Italy); the evaluation was done with the FAIR Methodology which defines the risk as a composition of well defined elements. Together with it, we conducted a small study on employees’ behaviours in regard to cyber security with a questionnaire to evaluate the conscious behaviours and an attempt at phishing to evaluate the unconscious behaviours. The work conducted with the MUSE is evaluated and abstracted to define a framework to build cyber security for museums and in general, every organizations. The framework has two natures: as a cycle for the long term building of the cyber security and the building blocks for the short term building. The building blocks requires the cycle to be built, the cycle requires the building blocks to build cyber security.
