Abstract: | The goal of this thesis is to create a new transportation strategy of the food banks in the region Twente-Salland. There are 11 food banks in this region which all pick up their products at the distribution center in Deventer. To make this more efficient, a research was done on whether a collective transportation network in which the distribution center supplies all food banks in the region. In this research a tool is made, which helps the food banks in solving their Vehicle Routing Problem on a daily basis. With this tool, experiments are done to know which vehicles are needed and how many of this vehicles are needed in the current situation, but also if the demand increases. |
