Abstract:Company X is a fast-growing food processing company for plant-based meat alternatives. Currently, the performance of production planning is not as desired. The core problem is the extensive required time that is needed for production planning. In the solution design, a procedure for a cyclic production plan is introduced. Furthermore, a scheduling heuristic with sequence-dependent setups is provided. The cyclic production plan is used as input for the scheduling heuristic. Moreover, the cyclic production plan and schedule are evaluated with performance measurement. With the cyclic production plan and the schedule, the production planner is more in control in production planning.
