Abstract: | Software testing for web development is for many companies an increasingly automated process. This is also the case for El Niño, a web development company based in Enschede, the Netherlands. However, when tests fail it can be a cumbersome process to find out why the test failed. This consequentially means that it is hard to find out how to repair the underlying software. Therefore, the company is looking for a tool which makes this process easier. This resulted in an iterative process where first a theoretic baseline was created by means of a literature and state of the art review. After that, the internal processes and needs were determined using interviews and a surveys, which in turn lead to a design phase were multiple designs were created. By reviewing the designs and comparing them to existing tools the company is already using it became apparent that it is similar to the company's customer portal, which was cloned in order to serve as a front-end for the prototype. Next to that, the existing internal back-end was extended to support the fetching and serving of test reports, which can be generated in the pipelines of projects after altering the configuration. This resulted in a test dashboard which is capable of displaying test reports from JavaScript codebases. |
