Abstract:Topicus Overheid BV currently tests typical customer search queries for their SaaS software Gidso by means of a basic made-up testing database. This leads to serval application bugs at the customer side as current testing cannot guarantee full external validity. This research tackles the issues of unrepresentative, homogenic and small datasets using anonymization techniques. The data transformation process derives from real client data which is subsequently conditionalized by common privacy models as k-anonimity or l-diversity and uncommon privacy models as the average re-identification risk. As individuals’ data should be protected by the rules of the General Data Protection Regulation, all techniques and corresponding parameters are evaluated along data integrity and privacy protection. The analysis is led by the goal of reducing of unnecessary application bugs caused by the lack of external validity in the testing phase.
