Abstract:Corporate intranets have undergone fast and dynamic developments in recent years, leading a growing number of organizations to implement platforms that incorporate Enterprise Social Software (ESS) technologies. These platforms are also referred to as Social Intranets. Organizations experience challenges to achieve satisfactory adoption rates. In order to better understand the acceptance of Social Intranets, we developed and validated acceptance models for five ESS technologies which are often integrated in Social Intranets. The validated acceptance models provide a deep understanding of what factors influence the acceptance of Social Intranets. This supports organizations to improve Social Intranet designs and implementations, which will result in higher adoption rates.
