Abstract:This thesis research is conducted in collaboration with Thales Nederland and the University of Twente. The research into expert finding systems is executed in an industrial context. It provides a schematic overview of steps taken in the process of expert finding by means of an expert finding system. The research focusses on how expert profiles can be generated automatically through text mining, and what information is needed to do so. A series of interviews are conducted with companies to get a grasp of what employee expertise sources are available, and to investigate if companies have implemented employee expertise policies. The combination of literature research and the results from the interviews is combined to create an expert profile. Finally, the research is evaluated with the use of the UTAUT-questionnaire.
