| Abstract: | The differences between nurses and physicians' experiences with antibiotic stewardship programs (ASPs) and Infection Prevention Control (IPC) has been investigated. Exploratory factor analyses have established seven reliable scales. Mann-Whitney U tests have indicated significant differences between nurses and physicians on four scales. In addition improvements regarding ASPs according to nurses and physicians have been explored by means of a coding-scheme. Differences but also similarities have been found. It seems the differing work conducted by nurses and physicians influences their experience with ASPs and IPC, and the improvements they deem to be necessary. In addition, a national IPC committee would improve the following of rules and guidelines by physicians and nurses. |
