Abstract:For this research six pressure sensors, each with a different length, are compared with a theoretical model and with each other. The comparison can be made after creating a theoretical model and performing several types of measurements on the provided chips. From the comparison with the theoretical model it can be concluded that several assumptions used in the model need to be studied more so they can be improved. The theoretical resistances were calculated from the chip design and compared to the measured resistances. The differences between the theoretical and measured resistances are caused in the fabrication process where the chips end up with slightly different dimensions as in the design. From the comparison of the sensors with each other relations were found between the temperature, and the offset introduced by the readout circuit. Bigger fluctuations in temperature cause the offset of the signal to rise and deviate more. A relation was discovered between the initial offset from the measurement setup and the standard deviation of the output signals. This relation showed that a higher offset is accompanied with a bigger deviation. Measurements with a Faraday case showed that the standard deviation can be reduced, the temperature and interference from outside play an important role in this.
