| Abstract: | Terminal tractors are used at distribution centres to move around semi-trailers and dock them. Generally, truck drivers park the semi-trailers on the distribution centre and a terminal tractor picks up the semi-trailer. The terminal tractor then moves it to the right dock and rearwards docks it. Currently, manned terminal tractors are used. The INTRALOG project is working on automation of this process. To make the project a success, information about the viability and added value of automated terminal tractors is needed. In this thesis, a tool is developed to assess the pros and cons of implementing automated terminal tractors for a business. |
