Abstract:Company X recently implemented a new ERP system. Although the main functions were fully operational, some aspects were not ready to effectively be implemented yet. The financial control models in particular needed to be altered quite significantly to become fully operational. The research focusses on the cost price model as this was prioritized by the company. The cost price model had not been updated for several years and was seen as extremely outdated. We conducted a literature research on the different costing methods to determine which method suited the company the most. Next to that, we researched many different aspects of the cost price model, such as the implementation of the model in the ERP system and the influence of the model on the other financial control models. Our research resulted in several updated financial control models. These models include the income statement, the results per department and the cost price model. Because we are not present once the model is implemented, we wrote an advisory report in which recommendations on future research are discussed.
