Abstract: | Trends in the current energy transition in the Netherlands may require a large amount of low voltage electricity networks to be reinforced in the coming years. However, cable reinforcement is expensive and labor intensive for underground electricity cables as used in the Netherlands. This study, performed in context of project GridFlex Heeten, assesses alternatives to cable reinforcement to increase the grid capacity of low voltage networks and the effect of these alternatives on the expected lifetime of cables and transformers. |
