| Abstract: | This graduation project involves the designing, realising and testing of an artifact. The goal is to design this artifact for the company Vopak and it has to be informative, promotional, interactive, and needs to be about the Ram team, the University of Twente, and the PIRATE. The best way to design this artifact is researched through looking into multiple subjects. These subjects are: Vopak, RaM, the PIRATE, how how to grab attention without being annoying, what are the suitable kinds of interactivity to get a passer by to notice an informative artifact, and state of the art. From this research ideas for the design are diverted, converted and then a final idea is specified. This final specified idea is then realised and tested through qualitative user testing, expert evaluating, and consulting with Ram and Vopak. It is concluded that five factors are important when designing an informative artifact like the one being designed in for this project. These five factors are that the artifact should: get attention, be easy to figure out for the user, keep attention, be informative, not be annoying. It is also concluded that the design created within this graduation project and report has a high probability of being a successful design to be an informative, promotional, interactive artifact for Vopak about the RaM team, the University of Twente, and the PIRATE based on those five factors. |
