Abstract:Objective: A way to achieve efficient care is eHealth. This study examines two different eHealth products of the company Medicinfo, ‘My Health Platform’ (MGP) and ‘The Diabetes Coach’. We looked at the user-friendliness and persuasiveness within these products. Methods: In addition, the experiences of MGP-users are examined. Therefore, three users were interviewed. Regarding to the user friendliness in the Diabetes Coach, five potential users have gone through a usability test. The researcher itself also has gone through two different procedures to achieve the goal. And that is to look for persuasive elements within MGP and the completion of a heuristic evaluation within the Diabetes Coach. Results: The results show that several persuasive elements are implemented within MGP some elements are also missing. Besides that, different heuristics were found within the Diabetes Coach, meaning that the usability is sufficient. With regard to the interviews with MGP-users it can be said that they have used the platform very rarely and there was no evidence of saturation with respect to the results. The usability tests with the Diabetes Coach showed that besides the predominantly positive results, there problems were also found that could affect the user-friendliness of the coach. Conclusion: This study adds new information about the two eHealth products of Medicinfo and concludes that changes should be implemented to optimize these products. Also further research of the experiences of current MGP-users is needed. At this moment a clear conclusion can’t be drawn.
