| Abstract: | The main goal of this bachelor assignment was designing a luggage system for the Quattrocycle, a bike for four persons. The assignment was commissioned by Greenolution, which focuses on products concerning durable mobility. To design the luggage system in a good way, scenarios were drawn of all different usage situations. This resulted in aspects that would matter during the designing process. Because it is important that the luggage can be mounted on the bike firmly, an extensive research was performed about the different mounting places and methods. It turned out that the luggage can be mounted in three places: on the luggage rack, between the seats and on the frame of the front seats. The most suitable mounting methodes turned out to be a snap closure and a system such as Klickfix. These two methods therefore were used finally. In addition, a research was performed about the different ways the user can take the luggage with him. This resulted in several restrictions concerning the dimensions, which were kept in mind during the design process. Based on these results, ideas were sketched for the luggage rack bag. Using a morfological scheme, three drafts were made. These three drafts have led to one definitive draft. Based on this draft, drafts for the middle bag en the seat bag were designed. The drafts that were the result of this process, were finally elaborated in more detail. This was performed using a SolidWorks model. Also, an existing SolidWorks model of the Quattrocycle was used for this. Finally, files were composed based on the SolidWorks model, to develop the prototype. With these files, Greenolution can have a prototype made, after which the bags can be further developed if necessary. |
