Abstract:Goal. Positive psychology interventions have been developed to facilitate positive emotions, wellbeing, growth, creativity, relationships, fulfillment, and other desirable. Psyfit is an example of an positive psychological intervention. Because positive interventions seem to be effective in increasing well being, it seems interesting to offer Psyfit to people from the Dutch population. The aim of this study is to test the effect of Psyfit by using a proactive approach and to test the effectiveness of this kind of implementation. Method. Participants between 19 and 64 years old from Zeeland, Noord- Brabant and Limburg were invited to participate in a representative sample to monitor their Health. The invitation was send by the Adult Health Monitor. This takes place with an interval of four years and serves as a monitoring tool to assess the overall level of health in the Duth population. An pro active approach was used to disseminate the intervention Psyfit. The invitation contained information about the content and purpose of monitoring their health. Participants could fill in an online form of the questionnaire. Results. 4.378 participants have registered in Psyfit. Adventually 872 participants have used Psyfit. This means they have passed a minimum of 20% of the intervention. 96 participants were adherent. This means they have passed a minimum of 100% of the intervention. On short term Psyfit seem to be effective in increasing well being. Psyfit seems to be most effective when participants pass a minimum of 100% of the intervention. Discussion. A pro active approach seems to be an effective way to spread Psyfit as an intervention and to increase well being. It is recommended to investigate how adherence and motivation could be increased. It is important to find out how people will use the intervention. It is also recommend to offer the intervention to other groups of the population to generalize the results.
