Abstract:Background: In Human Centered design it is important to include the users perspective in designing a new intervention. This study aimed to investigate the users perspective on the online course Op Verhaal Komen, a course designed to reduce symptoms of depressions in people over the age of 40. This study focused on the overall experience with the content of the course, the usability of the course and the online counseling that was provided in the course. Method: 15 Interviews were held with participants. A qualitative analysis was then performed. Results: The contents of the course were mostly regarded as positive, although just a small group of participants experienced help in decreasing symptoms of depression. The usability of the course was also regarded as positive, although there were much technical problems. The majority of the participants regarded the counseling as positive, however there were some contradictions in their experiences Conclusion: The study showed that the overall experience of the course seemed positive, even though the technical problems should be regarded earlier in the next version of the course. The contradictions in the experiences could be regarded in follow-up studies.
