Abstract:Last few years fair trade products have gained a low market share. A potential explanation for this could be that people see the world as a just place. Therefore the first purpose of this study was to discover the possible relationship between people’s extent of their world justification by measuring the belief in a just world (BJW) and the system justification theory (SJT) and the possible influence on the attitude towards Fair-‐trade products and the buying behavior of Fair-‐trade products. The results of the first study have shown that the SJT has an influence on the attitude, that attitude has an influence on the buying behavior and that the BJW and SJT have a positive influence on each other. The second purpose of this study was to examine whether people could be influenced through reading a just or unjust text, and what role the degree of world justification plays to increase the tendency of buying Fair-‐trade products. The results of the second study showed a weak relationship in that, a just text in combination with a high system justification (SJ) has a positive influence on the buying behavior of Fair-‐trade products.
