Abstract:Based on the findings of De Kleine and Van Der Lubbe (in preparation), this study explores whether and how spatial and/or motor sequences and chunking are transferred from one hand to the other in a go-/nogo-DSP task. Earlier research revealed that this learning transfer proceeds in effector-dependent as well as in effector-independent stages and relies on spatial and motor coordinates. Participants practiced sequences extensively and reproduced them, their mirrored versions and new sequences with as well the practiced as the unpracticed hand. The data show that sequences were learned effectordependent and that predominant motor coordinates have been developed.
